Second Chance: Formerly Lookinglass; FOX Drama Gets New Name

Second Chance TV show on FOX: season one; third title change; formerly Lookinglass and The Frankenstein Code

First it was called The Frankenstein Code, then Lookinglass. Now FOX has renamed its mid-season drama, yet again, with the lackluster Second Chance. Considering FOX has already cut the first season episode order from 13 to 11, what’s in a name?

Given the premise, which involves the reanimation of the dead, both the original and latest titles seem more apt than Lookinglass. Whatever they will be calling it, by the time it airs, the Second Chance cast includes Robert Kazinsky, Adhir Kalyan, Dilshad Vadsaria, Tim DeKay, and Ciara Bravo.

From Deadline:

Written by Crisis and Life creator Rand Ravich and executive produced by Howard Gordon, Second Chance centers on Jimmy Pritchard, a 75-year-old disgraced ex-sheriff whose life ends at the hands of corrupt cops. He is brought back to life and given a second chance by a pair of young tech scientists as a 35-year-old (Rob Kazinsky) with unpredictable near-superhuman abilities. The name of the company of the two scientists, twins Otto (Adhir Kalyan) and Mary (Dilshad Vadsaria), is Lookinglass (which explained the second title change).

The first name change was made because the producers wanted to distance themselves from the famous Frankenstein moniker, stressing that the series only takes inspiration from the basic Mary Shelley mythology of a man brought back to life by scientists playing God.

What do you think? Do you like the sound of this new series, Second Chance, enough to check it out? Which title do you prefer?
