Secrets and Lies: Season Two Ratings

Secrets and Lies has returned for a second season with a new case so Ryan Phillippe and his TV family are gone. The ABC series debuted late last season when there was a bit less competition. Now it’s launching in the fall, without most of the previous season’s characters. Will the ratings go up or down? Will it be cancelled or renewed for season three? Stay tuned.

In season two of Secrets and Lies, Detective Andrea Cornell (Juliette Lewis) is investigating a new murder case.  Smart and educated, Eric Warner (Michael Ealy) is attending a party to honor his dad as he passes over the reins of the family company. Tragedy strikes when Eric’s wife, Kate (Jordana Brewster), is found dead. Life, as he knows it, is over. Cornell immediately puts the grieving husband in her crosshairs. As Eric battles to prove his innocence and save the family’s company, he discovers that his beloved Kate and the rest of his family are not who they appeared to be. The rest of the cast includes Mekia Cox, Charlie Barnett, Kenny Johnson, Terry O’Quinn, and AnnaLynne McCord.

The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. Last year comparison: The first season of Secrets and Lies averaged a 1.50 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 5.66 million total viewers.
