John Peterman is at it again. According to the Wall Street Journal, the real J. Peterman Company has launched a Kickstarter campaign video starring John O’ Hurley.
O’Hurley played the retail company owner and world traveler, John Peterman, on Seinfeld between 1995 and 1998.
The campaign video introduces O’Hurley as Peterman, waxing poetic about his world travels when the video transitions into an ad for three upcoming products: a flapper dress, a ’70s motorcycle jacket, and the urban sombrero—the latter a reference to Seinfeld.
O’Hurley apparently not only played Peterman, but is friends with the real-life entrepreneur and has since become a partner in the company, which specializes in exotic clothing and accessories.
Contributors to the Kickstarter campaign can receive a catalog signed by the real J. Peterman and the fake one.
