TV show description:
This fantasy adventure series is based on the young adult fantasy book series by Cassandra Clare, The Mortal Instruments.
On her 18th birthday, Clary Fray (Katherine McNamara) is celebrating at the Pandemonium, a New York City nightclub. While there, she sees a group of teenagers with supernatural abilities attacking a demon who’s entered the club. She realizes that she is the only person who can see them.
Her mother Jocelyn (Maxim Roy) later explains that she comes from a long line of Shadowhunters — human-angel hybrids who hunt down demons. While trying to protect Clary, her mother is kidnapped by a demon so Clary must join the group of Shadowhunters to save her. Along the way, Clary discovers that she has amazing powers she didn’t know that she had.
Thrown into the world of demon-hunting, Clary relies on mysterious Jace Wayland (Dominic Sherwood), and siblings Isabelle and Alec Lightwood (Emeraude Toubia and Matthew Daddario) to navigate this new dark world.
With her best friend Simon Lewis (Alberto Rosende) along for the ride, Clary must now live among faeries, warlocks, vampires and werewolves to find answers that could help her find her mother.
Nothing is as it seems. Her close family friend, Luke Garroway (Isaiah Mustafa), knows more than he’s telling. Meanwhile, enigmatic warlock Magnus Bane (Harry Shum, Jr.) may hold the key to unlocking Clary’s past.
