Shameless will return to Showtime for its sixth season on January 17, and the network has shared three new promos teasing the return of the series starring William H. Macy.
There has also been various new spoilers from TV Line. The latest spoiler was released on Sunday.
“When I was talking to Cameron Monaghan about his Gotham send-off, I was sure to ask if we have not seen the last of Noel Fisher, who plays Mickey to his Ian on the Showtime series. Monaghan chuckled and then teased, ‘I don’t think you’ll wait long to see a really nice scene that he has. I won’t say what it is, but it’s a really nice scene.'”
Back in July, TV Line also shared a spoiler about a new arrival fans will see on the upcoming season.
“The Showtime drama comedy will introduce Sammi’s (Emily Bergl) never-before-seen mom, Queen — AKA the “earthy, sensual, flouncy, flamboyant and joyous” woman Frank (William H. Macy) had a one-night stand with decades ago. Casting is underway for a “zaftig” actress in her 50s who is comfortable with nudity and sexual situations and doesn’t mind being called zaftig.”
The third spoiler was released back in August by TV Line, and it also focuses on Mickey.
“We hate to be the bearer of bad news, but star Cameron Monaghan told us Mickey ‘is in prison for attempted murder at this point, so it’s hard to keep him heavily involved [in the new season],’ which picks up a few months after the finale. In the meantime, Ian is trying to ‘find some stability in his life’ via medication for bipolar disorder and a job at the diner with Fiona. Bonus Spoiler: Monaghan thinks Debbie’s possible-pregnancy plot will be the most surprising for viewers, and here’s why: ‘She has a big decision to make and this decision is one that someone her age probably shouldn’t be making.'”
That is all currently known about Shameless’ season six return. Check out two of the three new previews released by Showtime. Beware of strong language. The third preview contains nudity, so that can be seen at Spoiler TV.
