Amy Adams has a sharp new role. Deadline reports the actress has been cast as the lead of a new drama series, Sharp Objects.
The series is based on Gillian Flynn’s 2006 novel of the same name. Flynn also wrote the 2012 bestseller, Gone Girl.
Sharp Objects follows Camille Preaker (Adams), a journalist who returns to her Missouri hometown to report on the murders of two preteen girls.
Entertainment One is producing the series, with UnREAL co-creator Marti Noxon set as showrunner and Jean-Marc Vallée tapped as director.
The series is currently being shopped to various networks.
