Sharp Objects is coming to HBO. Deadline reports the network has picked up the series adaptation of the Gillian Flynn novel after a heated competition with other networks.
Amy Adams will star in the crime thriller.
Sharp Objects centers on Camille Preaker (Adams), a reporter who returns to her hometown after receiving psychiatric care. There, she begins investigating the mysterious murder of two young girls.
Flynn will co-write the series adaptation alongside showrunner Marti Noxon. Jean-Marc Vallée will direct.
No word yet on when the eight-episode first season will premiere.
