Shooter: Season Two of USA Series Will Have Fewer Episodes

Shooter TV show on USA Network: season 2 (canceled or renewed?) casting news

(Eric McCandless / USA Network)

Shooter fans are in for some unfortunate news. Deadline reports season two of the USA Network  TV show will have fewer episodes than originally planned.

The thriller drama centers on Bob Lee Swagger (Ryan Phillippe), a retired marksman expert who is coaxed back into action when someone threatens to assassinate the president. The cast also includes Shantel VanSanten, Omar Epps, Eddie McClintock, Cynthia Addai-Robinson, Tembi Locke, David Marciano, and Sean Cameron Michael.

According to Deadline, season two of Shooter will now consist of only eight episodes instead of 10 because of Ryan Phillippe’s recent injury. Earlier this month, the actor broke his leg during a family outing and production  on the USA Network Network series has stopped.

From Paramount TV:

Our priority is Ryan’s recovery, and after conversations with our partners at USA and UCP we’ve decided that we will wrap S2 with episode 208.”

Shooter is currently in the middle of its second season.

What do you think? Do you watch Shooter? Are you sad there will be fewer episodes?
