USA is taking aim with a new show. Variety reports the network has picked up the Ryan Phillippe drama Shooter to series.
Based on the 2007 Mark Wahlberg film, the show stars Phillippe alongside Omar Epps.
Shooter centers on Bob Lee Swagger (Phillippe), “an expert marksman living in exile who is coaxed back into action after learning of a plot to kill the president.” He’s recruited by Isaac Johnson (Epps), Swagger’s former commanding officer who now works as a Secret Service Agent.
The pilot was written by John Hlavin and directed by Simon Cellan Jones.

“‘Shooter’ is an uncompromising exploration of the definition and evolution of a hero. The conspiracy and drama that unfolded throughout the first hour had us completely immersed, and we look forward to more.”
No word yet on when Shooter will premiere.
