Will there be another season of Shots Fired? Recently, creators Gina Prince-Bythewood and Reggie Rock Bythewood spoke with Deadline about the future of the FOX TV series.

The 10-part drama explores the tense aftermath of two racially charged shootings in a small North Carolina town. The cast includes Sanaa Lathan, Stephan James, Helen Hunt, Richard Dreyfuss, Will Patton, Aisha Hinds, Conor Leslie, and Stephen Moyer.

In the interview, Prince-Bythewood said they planned Shots Fired as a limited series:

We came at it as a 10-hour film and we had the opportunity to tell this story over 10 hours.”

But is there still a chance of a second season? Bythewood says maybe:

If we decided we all wanted to do it again, we could.”

Shots Fired has received mixed ratings since its debut on March 22nd. Currently, the show is averaging a 1.02 rating in the 18-49 demo and 4.044 million viewers, making it one of FOX‘s top-10 shows in terms of viewership. However, in terms of ratings, Shots Fired ranks 13th.

What do you think? Are you watching Shots Fired? Do you think it needs a second season?
