Silent Witness: Season 20 Planned for UK Crime Series

Silent Witness

There’s another season planned for BBC’s crime series Silent Witness, Digital Spy reports.

The series’ 19th season debuts on January 4th, 2016.

One of the BBC’s longest-running series, Silent Witness began in 1996 and follows a team of forensic pathologists. Emilia Fox joined the cast in 2004 as Dr. Nikki Alexander, and in an interview with Digital Spy, said she’s not tired yet even after 11 years with the show:

It’s constantly evolving. Amanda Burton set it off with Sam Ryan, and then the show evolved with Tom Ward and Willie Gaminara, the Harry and Leo characters. Then it’s evolved again with the new regular cast and forming those different relationships.”

Fox added that there are definite plans set for a next season of the series:

I know that for the next series, we’re going to see a lot more Clarissa and find out a lot more about her background. I think she is such a brilliant character and the audience absolutely love her – because she helps to counter-balance the darkness of what the show is about.”

What do you think? Do you watch Silent Witness? Would you like to see more seasons?
