Today, HBO announced they’ve renewed Silicon Valley for a fifth season, but it seems not everyone is returning. TVLine reports star TJ Miller is leaving the TV series.
Miller plays tech entrepreneur Erlich Bachman on the comedy, which also stars Thomas Middleditch, Zach Woods, Kumail Nanjiani, Martin Starr, Amanda Crew, Josh Brener, Matt Ross, and Jimmy O. Yang.
The current, fourth season of Silicon Valley will be Miller’s last, with the season finale airing on June 25th. HBO has released a statement regarding Miller’s exit from the show:
The producers of Silicon Valley and T.J. Miller have mutually agreed that T.J. will not return for Season 5. In Erlich Bachman, T.J. has brought to life an unforgettable character, and while his presence on the show will be missed, we appreciate his contribution and look forward to future collaborations.”
