True Blood‘s Joe Manganiello has been cast in a leading role in History‘s Six TV series. Barry Sloane was cast earlier this month as John “Bear” Graves. Sloane played Aiden Mathis on the second and third seasons of Revenge, which was cancelled by ABC after four seasons.
An eight-episode drama series, Six features the elite Navy SEAL team on a mission to eliminate an Afghanistan Taliban leader. It goes south when they discover a U.S. citizen cooperating with the terrorists. Six comes from A+E Studios and The Weinstein Company. Writers are Bruce C. McKenna, Alfredo Barrios, Jr., William and David Broyles, and Karen Campbell.

Magic Mike‘s Manganiello will play Rip Taggart, a gruff, haggard, and aggressive military man who was once the squad leader of Seal Team Six. Five years later, Rip is working in Africa, protecting a small village from Boko Haram. I hear he has signed a one-year deal for the show.
