Wrestling fans are in for a treat. According to Variety, USA will air a live broadcast of WWE’s Smackdown starting in July.
The long-running wrestling show moved to USA from Syfy last January.
Beginning July 19th, USA will broadcast Smackdown live every week, adding to the three hours of WWE Raw that currently airs every Monday on the network.
From NBCUniversal Cable Entertainment chief Chris McCumber:
There is a huge appetite among our viewers for live programming and the ability to move ‘Smackdown’ to a live format brings a new level of excitement and helps truly eventize this every week.”
