Soap: Jay Johnson (Chuck & Bob), Part 2, TV Series Finale Podcast #43

Jay Johnson is widely regarded as an incredible ventriloquist. Aside from numerous TV appearances, he won a Tony Award in 2007 for his one man Broadway show, The Two and Only. Still, Johnson is best known for his role on the landmark 1977 sitcom, Soap.

In the first part of our extended interview with the actor, we discussed his early career, how he landed the role on Soap, the controversy surrounding the show, and a lot of great anecdotes about working with the rest of the extraordinary cast. You can hear part one here.

In part two, we discuss many of the memorable Soap guest stars, the show’s announcer Rod Roddy, the series’ surprise ending, working on CSI, Empty Nest, and Chuck and Bob’s surprise return on That ’70s Show.
