Don’t mess with Texas! Below, watch the official “Bless Texas” teaser and check out these new photos for AMC‘s upcoming drama, The Son. Based on the Philipp Meyer novel, the series is billed as “a multi-generational epic telling of the story of America’s birth as a superpower through the bloody rise of one Texas family.”
The Son stars Pierce Brosnan, Jacob Lofland, Henry Garrett, Shane Graham, Elizabeth Frances, and Nick Stevenson. Meyer is executive producing with Lee Shipman, Brian McGreevy, and showrunner Kevin Murphy. Expect The Son to premiere on AMC in spring 2017.

According to AMC press materials, season one of The Son follows two concurrent time periods. The first features the story of young Eli McCullough (Lofland) after he is kidnapped and indoctrinated into a tribe of Comanches in 1849. The second kicks off 60 years later. Now grown, Eli (Brosnan) struggles to maintain his family’s cattle empire during the turbulent Bandit Wars of South Texas.
