Speechless: ABC Issues Press Release & Photos from the (Series?) Finale

Speechless TV show on ABC: (canceled or renewed?)

Season one of Speechless is coming to a close. Recently, ABC released new photos and details for the TV show’s upcoming season finale.

The sitcom follows the DiMeo family, which includes no-nonsense mom Maya (Minnie Driver), husband Jimmy (John Ross Bowie), brainy Ray (Mason Cook), athletic Dylan (Kyla Kennedy), and teenager JJ (Micah Fowler), who has cerebral palsy. Cedric Yarbrough also stars as JJ’s aide.

Odds are the season one finale won’t be the end for Speechless. All signs point to a season two renewal since ABC extended its episode order and the series has earned strong ratings during its freshman season. Currently, it’s one of the network’s highest-rated shows for the 2016-2017 season, bringing in an average rating of 1.61 in the 18-49 demo and 5.526 million viewers.

The season one finale of Speechless debuts on May 17th at 8:30 p.m. ET/PT.
