Splash debuted in March to a healthy 2.6 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 9.02 million viewers. Unfortunately, subsequent episodes didn’t do nearly as well. The show lost more than 25% of its audience in week two, another 14% in week three, and another 9% in week four. And the numbers kept falling.
The penultimate episode of the season represented a series low with just a 0.9 demo rating and 4.32 million viewers. The finale did about the same.
Based on the ratings, it seems highly unlikely that Splash will be back for a second season. What’s more, many viewers expressed that the diving was dangerous and the challenges made the show uncomfortable to watch. It seems unlikely that these people would return for another round.
