What’s This TV Show About?
Airing on the FOX television network, Star follows three talented singers as they navigate the cut-throat music business on their road to success. They’re desperate for a new start and have ambitions of stardom. As reality seeps into the girls’ fantasies, they begin to learn that ambition often comes at a cost. And sometimes that cost is too high. The cast includes Queen Latifah, Benjamin Bratt, Jude Demorest, Ryan Destiny, and Brittany O’Grady. Lenny Kravitz guest stars.

On February 22, 2017, Star was renewed for a second season.
It will debut on Wednesday, September 27, 2017, at 9pm ET.

Telly’s Take
This music drama debuted in December 2016 with a 2.15 rating in the demo and an audience of 6.71 million viewers. Although that is a strong start, the network then took the fledgling musical drama off the air for three weeks. When it returned on January 4th, it garnered a 1.59 in the demo and 4.72 million viewers. In its fourth week, Star fell to a 1.23 and 3.958 million, respectively. By the time FOX renewed Star for season two, on February 22nd, it was averaging a 1.41 demo rating and an audience of 4.46 million. Subscribe to this page. After all, even renewals can be cancelled.
