Star Trek is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year, and Star Trek fans have a special event starting this month. A 100 city concert celebrating the music of Star Trek is kicking off in Florida on January 17.
The tour is called Star Trek The Ultimate Voyage Concert Tour, and it will celebrate all of the music from the Star Trek franchise, which consists of five television series and several films.
In 2017, CBS will bring back Star Trek with a new series that will premiere on the network before becoming an exclusive on CBS All Access.
A concert tour might seem a bit out there, but William Shatner wanted something similar to celebrate the milestone for the series. TV Series Finale shared comments made by Shatner, and he wanted a musical or some kind of celebration to mark the 50th anniversary.
