Fans might recognize the design from Star Trek: Beyond‘s new poster. That’s because the new poster pays homage to the first Star Trek movie, reports Ain’t It Cool News.
Earlier, we posted the trailer for the upcoming Star Trek film, which reunites Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Zoe Saldana, and the entire Enterprise crew for another space adventure.
The new Star Trek: Beyond poster features Captain Kirk (Pine), Spock (Quinto), and new character Jaylah (Sofia Boutella) illuminated by rays of red, white, and blue. The design is clearly inspired by the poster for Robert Wise’s 1979 film, Star Trek: The Motion Picture, which starred William Shatner and Leonard Nimoy from Gene Roddenberry’s original series.
Star Trek: Beyond premieres on July 22nd.
