Why is Star Trek: Discovery debuting in May instead of January? Recently, CBS chief Les Moonves addressed the series’ delay, Deadline reports.
Earlier this month, CBS released a statement saying the show was being pushed back to allow the creative team more time to produce the “highest quality, premium edition of the first new “Star Trek” TV series in over a decade.”
At a recent conference, Moonves said the producers of Star Trek: Discovery requested more time:
With Star Trek, which is the family jewels, I rather it be a few months late than not late and suffer for it. The producers came into my office and begged me. So we flipped their position on the dial in terms of our calendar,”
Instead of Star Trek: Discovery, CBS is now premiering their Good Wife spin-off this winter.
