Taking place years before the adventures of Captain Kirk and Mr. Spock, this sci-fi series follows the adventures of the first starship Enterprise. The ship is commanded by Captain Jonathan Archer (Scott Bakula) and his crew; Vulcan first officer and science officer T’Pol (Jolene Blalock), chief engineer Charles “Trip” Tucker III (Connor Trinneer), armory and chief security officer Malcolm Reed (Dominic Keating), chief communications officer Hoshi Sato (Linda Park), helmsman Travis Mayweather (Anthony Montgomery), and Denobulan chief medical officer Phlox (John Billingsley). The series illustrates the origins of many elements that are well-established parts of other Trek series like the Prime Directive, warp speed, force fields, relationships with species like Vulcans and Klingons, etc.
