Star Trek is making a big return in 2017. CBS announced its plans to bring a new series to their CBS All Access streaming platform after an initial premiere on CBS.
Trekkies have expressed their excitement about the revival, and CBS is also excited about the new series. TV Series Finale previously reported that the network sees a long future for the new series.
One of the cast members from the original series is now speaking out about the series. George Takei spoke about the new Star Trek before the opening night of his play over the weekend.
The Hollywood Reporter shared his comments.
“I think it’s great. Well, we certainly have lived long for a failed television series. At the beginning of each episode, we announced that we were ‘boldly going on a five-year mission,’ but those Klingons in the programming department of NBC canceled us and ruined that five-year mission in three! Now, I do believe in the Vulcan greeting. We will live long and prosper.”
