Star Trek: New TV Series Always Meant for Streaming Says CBS

Star Trek series 2017

A new Star Trek is headed to CBS in early 2017, and the new man in charge of CBS gave Trekkies an update on the new series. The new Star Trek will air exclusively on CBS All Access after its initial launch on CBS.

Glen Geller did not know much about the project, but that is only because it is not a CBS series. CBS All Access has taken complete control of the new Star Trek.

According to Trek Today, Geller said the following about the new series:

“I’m just thrilled we get to be part of the launch. We’ll broadcast the launch. I’m not sure about the plans creatively for new characters. I don’t have anything to do with it. It really is for All Access. While the network will be broadcasting the pilot, I actually can’t answer any creative questions about it. I’m looking forward to seeing the new Star Trek. I think it’s going to be an exciting project.”
