With the new Star Trek series coming to CBS in 2017 creating a lot of buzz, one might forget that the original Star Trek is getting close to its 50th anniversary.
William Shatner has not forgotten the big anniversary, and he has something special in mind to celebrate the occasion.
Shatner wants to do some type of special or musical event to mark the 50th anniversary of Star Trek. He spoke about it recently, and Sky News shared his comments. He also touched on the new Star Trek series.
“I’m attempting to sell a 50th anniversary show, but so far I’ve had very little luck. Maybe because Paramount’s going to do their own – but I don’t know how they can do their own without me. I’ve never been contacted. I’ve been actively trying to do a 50th anniversary show … We had a big company say, ‘What about a musical or a music variety show?’ That got some traction – but nothing’s come of it yet.”
