Star has added a Fast and Furious star to its cast in a recurring role. Deadline reported that Tyrese Gibson will recur in a role as a love interest for the character played by Queen Latifah.
The new drama from Lee Daniels will follow three young singers on their journey through the music business.
Deadline revealed the following about Gibson’s role:
“Gibson will play Pastor Bobby Harris, a leader and confidant to many who presides over Carlotta’s (Latifah) warm congregation. A handsome ex-thug, who has, like Carlotta, turned his life over to God. Carlotta and Pastor Harris begin a relationship that will be challenged on many fronts and which will ultimately create a crisis of faith for them both.”
