Ben Savage is headed to CMT. Deadline reports the Girl Meets World star has joined season two of Still the King.
The sitcom follows Vernon Brownmule (Billy Ray Cyrus), aka “Burnin’ Vernon,” a washed-up country music star who ends up pretending to be a small town minister. The cast also includes Joey Lauren Adams, Madison Iseman, Jon Sewell, Travis Nicholson, Leslie David Baker, Kevin Farley, and Justin Dray.
In season two, Savage will play “Gene, a no-nonsense Securities Exchange Commission agent who dreams of making the big bust.” The new season of Still the King is expected to premiere on CMT this summer.
