Adam McKay and Will Ferrell are venturing into dramatic territory. According to The Hollywood Reporter, HBO has ordered a new TV series from the producers titled Succession.
From Peep Show writer Jesse Armstrong, the family drama will star “Brian Cox as the patriarch of a family-owned media empire.” The cast also includes Kieran Culkin, Jeremy Strong, Sarah Snook, Alan Ruck, Nicholas Braun, Matthew Macfadyen, Hiam Abbas, Rob Yang, Parker Sawyers, and Peter Friedman.
HBO has ordered 10 episodes of Succession. McKay, Ferrell, Armstrong, Kevin Messick, Frank Rich, and Ilene S. Landress will executive produce the series.
