Katey Sagal is headed to CBS. Deadline reports the Sons of Anarchy actress has joined CBS’ revamped pilot Superior Donuts.
Based on the play by Tracy Letts, the comedy “follows the relationship between the owner of a donut shop, Arthur (Judd Hirsch), his new young employee (Jermaine Fowler) and their patrons in a gentrifying neighborhood of Chicago.” The cast also includes Maz Jobrani, David Koechner, and Rell Battle.
On Superior Donuts, Sagal will star as “Randy, a practical street cop for whom Superior Donuts is part of her beat. She’s been on the force a long time and nothing fazes her.” In the original pilot, the role was played by Megyn Price. However, several roles were recast when CBS decided to retool the pilot for further consideration.
