Super news! Wales Online reports that the animated series SuperTed is headed back to TV.
The original U.K. series ran from 1983 to 1986.
Created by Mike Young, SuperTed began as a series of stories about an ordinary teddy bear who is brought to life by an alien named Spotty and given special powers by Mother Nature. He uses these powers to help others and fight evil.
The original SuperTed series was broadcast in Wales, England, Ireland, and France. An American series, The Further Adventures of SuperTed, aired in 1989.
At an event for his film Norm of the North, Young announced new episodes of SuperTed are expected to start production this year:
I got my start in Wales with SuperTed, the first ever show sold to Disney by an outside company, which we hope will be back in production this year, as well as finding and developing the iconic Fireman Sam in Wales.”
What do you think? Did you watch the original SuperTed series? Would you watch the new episodes?
