It’s time to say goodbye. Switched at Birth star Vanessa Marano recently spoke with The Hollywood Reporter about the upcoming final season of the Freeform TV show.
The drama follows the lives of two teenage girls after it’s discovered that they ended up with the others’ families as babies at the hospital. The cast also includes Katie Leclerc, Lea Thompson, Constance Marie, Sean Berdy, D.W. Moffett, Lucas Grabeel, and Giles Marini.
In the interview, Marano revealed the final season begins almost a year after season four ended:
We come back and its 10 months later and it’s like all this stuff has happened but you don’t know what it is yet and it all gets revealed within the first 20 minutes. You find these characters who have matured so much or think they have matured so much but then they get dragged right back to where they were and they’re fighting against it so that’s, I think, the fun of it.”
And what about the series ending? Will viewers find it satisfying?
I think so, because what’s nice about it is it does tie everything up and all the characters come out on top if that makes sense, not necessarily in the way you’d expect though. They get what they want but they didn’t necessarily realize that’s they wanted.”
The fifth and final season of Switched at Birth begins tomorrow, January 31st, at 9 p.m. ET/PT on Freeform.
