Taken: Season Two Ratings

Despite lackluster ratings for a new broadcast network drama, the Taken TV show wasn’t cancelled after its first season on NBC. Thanks to international sales, this prequel series to the Liam Neeson feature film trilogy scored a renewal. Can the action drama build up its audience in the second season? Will Taken be cancelled or renewed for season three? Stay tuned.

Set 30 years prior to the movies, Taken stars Clive Standen as a young, but still lethal Bryan Mills. The NBC cast also includes Jennifer Beals, Adam Goldberg, and Jessica Camacho. Along with his team of covert operatives, Mills pursues rescue missions around the globe, employing his particularly dangerous skill set.

The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly in the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. For comparisons: The first season of Taken on NBC averaged a 1.00 rating in the 18-49 year old demographic and 5.132 million viewers.

4/18/18 update: NBC has cancelled the Taken TV show. The final episodes will start airing on Saturday nights in May.
