TV show description:
The world of a group of taxi drivers, a dispatcher, and a mechanic who work for the fictional Sunshine Cab Company in New York City.
Alex Reiger (Judd Hirsch) is the only full-time cabbie working for the company and is certainly the most normal of the group. The other drivers include divorced mother Elaine O’Connor-Nardo (Marilu Henner); dim-witted boxer Tony Banta (Tony Danza); shallow actor Bobby Wheeler (Jeff Conaway); college student John Burns (Randall Carver); and hippie burn-out Reverend Jim Ignatowski (Christopher Lloyd).
The company’s dispatcher, Louie De Palma (Danny DeVito), is a loathsome tyrant that does his best to cheat and make everyone else miserable.
The taxicabs are maintained by eccentric foreigner Latka Gravas (Andy Kaufman) who finds love with the equally strange Simka Dahblitz (Carol Kane).
