Taped in front of a live audience, each episode of this improvisational series features actors being thrown into pre-existing scenes without the benefit of a script or any previous information.

Upon entering the sketch, the guest actor is greeted by another performer with “Thank God you’re here!” All of the other actors in the sketch have a script which is loosely followed depending on the guest’s actions.

The sketch continues until judge Dave Foley stops it by sounding his buzzer. A trophy is awarded to one of each episode’s four guest actors. The series is hosted by comedian David Alan Grier who makes a cameo in at least one sketch per episode.
