The Amazing Race: Spring 2013 Ratings

amazing race ratingsWhile teams race around the world, CBS is hoping that this reality competion will win the ratings race — or at least win its timeslot. Will the network renew The Amazing Race for another cycle? We’ll have to wait and see.

Hosted by Phil Keoghan, The Amazing Race typically airs on Sunday nights on CBS. There are usually about 12 episodes. This season’s contestants include twin doctors Idries Abdur-Rahman and Jamil Abdur-Rahman, newlyweds Max Bichler and Katie Bichler, roller derby moms Mona Egender and Beth Bandimere, hockey brothers Bates Battaglia and Anthony Battaglia, married couple Chuck McCall and Wynona McCall, cancer surviving father/son David O’Leary and Connor O’Leary, country singers Caroline Cutbirth and Jennifer Kuhle, YouTube hosts Joey Graceffa and Meghan Camarena, best friends Pamela Chien and Winnie Sung, daters Jessica Hoel and John Erck, and firefighters Matthew Davis and Daniel Moss.

Reference point: The Spring 2011-12 season averaged a 2.6 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 9.31 million total viewers.

These are different from the fast affiliate numbers which are just estimates of the actual ratings and are reported on by most other outlets. The final nationals are typically released within 24 hours of the programming or, in the case of weekends and holidays, a couple days later.
