TV show description:
From creator Beau Williamson, The First TV show unfolds in the near future. The American-British drama centers on the astronaut crew attempting to be the first humans on Mars, as well as their families. Although the premise involves space travel, it is ultimately a story about people — those trying to get there and those they may leave behind.
The Providence crew works under the supervision of visionary aerospace mogul Laz Ingram (McElhone), CEO of Vista. Danger and sacrifice await them, as they take part in what is arguably the greatest venture in the history of the human race.
Meanwhile, although former mission commander, Tom Hagerty (Penn) was the 13th man to set foot on the moon, he was pulled from a previously scheduled mission to Mars. Now he must watch from home, and deal with matters more mundane, as the countdown nears. Will they get there without him? Will they get there at all? Stay tuned.
Series Finale:
Episode #8 — Near and Far
The crew of Providence 2 prepares to launch. Laz and Denise get ready for a new chapter in their lives.
First aired: September 14, 2018.
