The Flintstones: UK Couples Marry as Stone-Age Characters

Not since the stone-age has there been a wedding like this. Dressed as the famous residents from Bedrock, a pair of couples from the UK have gotten married as the lead characters from The Flintstones.

For their recent nuptials, Simon and Andrea Bean personified Fred and Wilma Flintstone while Richard and Jill Noble dressed up as Barney and Betty Rubble from the classic animated TV series.

According to Metro, some 165 guests attended the ceremony and came dressed in appropriate Cro-Magnon attire. Andrea and Jill started down the aisle to the traditional sound of Wagner’s Bridal March but the music soon switched to the iconic Flintstones theme-song.

Mrs. Bean noted that the foursome are very close friends and that Mrs. Noble was her husband’s sister. She added that, since they’d all been married before, they didn’t want a typical wedding this time around. Pleased with the outcome, she said, “It was a fantastic day, all the guests made such an effort.”

Following the ceremony, the quartet of newlyweds proceeded to a local dinosaur park for their wedding photos. In lieu of wedding presents, the brides and grooms asked that guests donate money to the Children’s Liver Disease Foundation. They raised more than £1,200.

There’s no word on where they’re planning to honeymoon but one has to assume that they’re at least considering Hollyrock and Rock Vegas.
