Here are the details:
TUESDAY NIGHTS ARE HEATING UP THIS SUMMER WITH THE MID-SEASON RETURN OF “The Game” AND THE BET PREMIERE CINEMA DEBUT OF “BEING MARY JANE” STARRING GABRIELLE UNION
THE HIT SERIES AND ORIGINAL MOVIE AIR BACK-TO-BACK ON TUESDAY, JULY 2ND STARTING AT 10:00 P.M.* ET/PT ON BET NETWORKS
LOS ANGELES – June 19, 2013 – 42% of Black women have never been married. Mary Jane Paul is one of them. Starring Gabrielle Union, “BEING MARY JANE” looks beyond the statistic at an extraordinary woman with everyday issues. Power producing team Salim Akil and Mara Brock Akil bring viewers a night packed with drama and laughs, as their new movie debuts immediately after the mid-season launch of their #1 hit BET comedy, “The Game.” This television event kicks off with “The Game” premiering Tuesday, July 2nd at 10:00 P.M.* ET/PT, followed by “BEING MARY JANE” at 10:30 P.M. ET/PT – only on BET.
With the return of “The Game”, fans will finally learn the fate of their favorite characters. After Keira’s big revelation, it looked like her fledgling relationship with Blue might not make it off the ground. Will Keira and Blue’s first time be their last? And Tasha might finally have to face the consequences of her affair with Rick.
The love triangles continue on “BEING MARY JANE”. The thoroughly modern Mary Jane is struggling to balance life, love, career and family. She’s torn between an ex who she can’t quite shake, and a hunky new boyfriend who is hiding a big secret. “BEING MARY JANE” is one woman’s story, but we all can relate.
Mary Jane Paul seemingly has it all as a beautiful and successful TV news anchor. In reality, she’s a self-sufficient powerhouse with a lackluster love life who remains devoted to a family that doesn’t share her motivation. How far is she willing to go to find the puzzle pieces that she – and society – insist are missing from her life? Intense drama and unforgettable moments unfold as Mary Jane juggles her life, her relationships, her work and commitments to her family.
The movie also stars Omari Hardwick, Richard Roundtree, Margaret Avery, Lisa Vidal, Richard Brooks, Tika Sumpter, Raven Goodwin, B.J. Britt, Aaron Spears, Latarsha Rose, Stephen Bishop and Robinne Lee.
The “BEING MARY JANE” original series is slated to premiere early 2014 on BET Networks.
What do you think? Do you plan on watching the return of The Game? Should the series be renewed for a seventh season?
