Here’s the official announcement:

ITV today confirmed commission of a new six-part series, The Good Karma Hospital, from Tiger Aspect Drama.
Set in the tropical paradise of Goa, The Good Karma Hospital is a drama with heart. Vibrant and colourful, the contemporary series follows a team of British and Indian medics as they cope with work, life and love at an over-worked and under-resourced cottage hospital.
Run by a gloriously eccentric Englishwoman, the “Good Karma” turns no one away – locals, ex-pats and tourists are all welcomed through its doors.
With a stunning location, exotic medical cases and unforgettable characters, the series mixes the heartbreaking with the humorous, as the doctors, nurses and patients discover that the hospital is more than just a rundown medical outpost – it’s a home.
The Good Karma Hospital has been commissioned for ITV by Director of Drama Steve November and Controller of Drama Victoria Fea.
“Dan Sefton’s scripts are beautifully written and deal with themes we’ll all identify with – love, loss, relationships, family conflict, facing adversity and the importance of seizing the day,” said Steve. “The Good Karma Hospital is a feel-good drama full of warmth and characters we will love.”
The 6 x60’ drama will be executive produced by Will Gould, Frith Tiplady, and Iona Vrolyk on behalf of Tiger Aspect Drama, producers of Peaky Blinders, Ripper Street and Cuffs. Stephen Smallwood (Beowulf, The Sparticle Mystery, DCI Banks) will produce the drama. The series has been created and written by Dan Sefton (The Five, Mr Selfridge, Death in Paradise).
Will Gould, Tiger Aspect Drama’s joint MD and Executive Producer said:
“Dan has created a wonderful world in his scripts – so vibrant and evocative you can taste them. We’re so excited to be working with him to bring a little bit of the magic and wonder of Goa to the ITV audience.”
The series will begin filming during 2016 and details of the cast will be advised in due course.”
