The Man in the High Castle: Series Creator Talks Future Seasons, Satisfying Closure

The Man in the High Castle released its full season to Amazon in November, and the man in charge of the series already knows how the series will end. He just does not know when it will end.

Frank Spotnitz spoke about the series with the Village Voice recently, and he shared that he does know where the story will end. Fans will have a satisfying closure – they will know “where Juliana Crain is going and what her story is about and how it would end.”

Spotnitz realizes closure is important because he knows series sometimes shows leave their fans hanging and wondering what would have happened to the characters if events played out.

For future seasons, Spotnitz would like to show more of the planet and the impact the Axis win would have on the rest of the world. For season two, he also plans to address what happened to African Americans.

He said:

“In my version of this, African Americans have been banished entirely from the Reich. You do see black people in the Neutral Zone and the Japanese Pacific States, where they’re less strict about enforcing racial laws and cleansing. But we don’t really explore, in season one, the fate of African Americans. It’s something I hope to do in season two.”
