The Mary Tyler Moore Show: Iconic House Up for Sale

The Mary Tyler Moore Show aired for seven seasons on CBS before the decision was made to end it. However, it still remains an iconic comedy series to this day, and one lucky fan can now buy the home that was used for the series – it will cost that lucky fan a lot of money though.

Realtor.com reported on Thursday that the home used for the series is now for sale, and it has been for sale on and off since 2012. The current asking price for the home is $1.95 million – which is probably why someone has not purchased the Minnesota home. The price was cut on the home this month.

On the series, Mary Tyler Moore’s character lived on the third floor of the home. Barry Berg, the real estate listing the home for Coldwell Banker Burnet, spoke about the possible reasons the home was chosen for use on the series.

“It’s very easy to photograph. It has that visible third floor. One could easily imagine it being rented out. It would have been snapped up in a heartbeat by a young professional. It fits her persona.”

The house looks very different now than it did 40 years ago. A fourth floor was added, and the structure was remodeled further as well. The house, which was built in 1892, has seven bedrooms, nine bathrooms, nanny quarters, a sauna, a weight room, and a three-car garage.”
