TV show description:
This anthology TV series follows a new case with new characters in a new location each season. The story unfolds over multiple time frames simultaneously.
The first season begins when a five year-old boy named Oliver (Oliver Hunt) disappears while on holiday in France. This event starts a nearly decade-long search for his whereabouts. Viewers are taken inside the mind of the boy’s father, Tony Hughes (James Nesbitt), desperate to locate his lost son.
With help from legendary detective Julien Baptiste (Tchéky Karyo), Tony embarks on an obsessive quest to find his son and those responsible for his disappearance. There are twists and turns at every stage. Tony’s exhaustive search fractures his relationship with his wife, Emily Hughes (Frances O’Connor), and threatens to destroy his life.
In season two, the story begins as a young British woman named Alice Webster (Abigail Hardingham) stumbles through the streets of her hometown in Germany and collapses. She has been missing for 11 years and her return sends shockwaves through the small community of Eckhausen, especially when it is revealed that she may hold vital clues to the whereabouts of another missing girl. Told simultaneously over three timeframes, the series follows Alice’s family as they are thrown back into a turmoil that threatens to tear them apart at the seams. French detective Julien Baptiste (Tchéky Karyo) becomes embroiled in the mystery and races across Europe to pursue a 12-year-old case that he never let die.
Episode #16 — The Mountain
The events that led up to Alice’s return to Eckhausen in 2014 are finally revealed, as Sam and Gemma join Julien in a desperate race against time.
