NBC wants to try to recoup some of the $10 million they’ve sunk into the pilot over the last two years so they’re going to air it as a Halloween special, on Friday, October 26th. It’ll lead into an episode of Grimm.
Based on the 1964-66 sitcom, the Mockingbird Lane pilot stars Jerry O’Connell as Herman Munster, Portia de Rossi as Lily Munster, and Eddie Izzard as Grandpa. Writer-producer Bryan Fuller and director Bryan Singer were said to have differing opinions on how to handle the project and, in the end, what they made didn’t meet NBC’s expectations.
Fuller has moved on to shoot NBC’s new Hannibal series which has a 13 episode commitment.
What do you think? Will you be tuning in to watch the pilot? Do you think it will be good?
