The Nevers: Unaired Episodes of HBO Series Coming to Tubi; Will Viewers Get Closure?

The Nevers TV show on HBO: canceled or renewed?

The Nevers is coming to Tubi today. Viewers will see all 12 episodes of the first season air in rotation on the streaming service after their initial airing. Unfortunately, they aren’t available on-demand so one has to watch them “live”. An ad-supported streaming service, Tubi has made a deal to also stream all seasons of cancelled HBO shows like Westworld, Raised by Wolves, and The Time Traveler’s Wife.

Production on The Nevers was shut down several times due to the pandemic. The historical sci-fi series debuted on HBO in April 2021 and aired for six episodes. The remaining six episodes were expected to be released in 2022 but never materialized. HBO cancelled the series in December and the search to find a new home to air the series began.

Starring Laura Donnelly, Ann Skelly, Olivia Williams, James Norton, Tom Riley, Pip Torrens, Ben Chaplin, Denis O’Hare, Amy Manson, Rochelle Neil, Zackary Momoh, Eleanor Tomlinson, Elizabeth Berrington, Anna Devlin, Kiran Sonia Sawar, Viola Prettejohn, Ella Smith, Vinnie Heaven, and Nick Frost, The Nevers was created by Joss Whedon. It is set in Victorian London and follows a group of people who somehow obtain mysterious powers.

In an interview with TV Line, Philippa Goslett, an executive producer of the sci-fi series, was asked if viewers will get closure:

Lastly, will the finale leave fans frustrated, if this turns out to be it? Are there big cliffhangers, or is there a degree of completion to this part of the story?

“I think Episode 12 brings all our storylines home to roost in ways which will feel satisfyingly cathartic. There are definitely story elements and character dynamics there which were intended to push into future series [seasons], but they would have been starting a new chapter of The Nevers. I believe that we bring this one to what feels like a natural close.”

Check out a teaser for The Nevers below.
