Series Description: Castaways Gilligan (Bob Denver), Skipper (Alan Hale, Jr.), Thurston Howell III and his wife “Lovey” (Jim Backus and Natalie Schafer), Ginger (Jane Webb), the Professor (Russell Johnson), and Mary Ann (Jane Webb) are still trying to find a way off the tropical island.
On this animated Saturday morning spin-off of the popular Gilligan’s Island sitcom, the characters are joined by a cute monkey named Snubby (Lou Scheimer) and all learn a valuable lesson by the end of each episode. (Read more about the series here.)
Episode 24 – Moderation
It hasn’t rained for months and much of the castaways’ food supply has dried up. Using water from a nearby lake, they create an irrigation system to feed their gardens. Mr. Howell uses extra water and an enlarging fluid to ensure that his garden is the best. The others figure out what he’s doing and follow suit. Unfortunately, they use up the water supply and the crops are too big to eat. Just when all seems lost, it begins to rain and the friends rejoice together. Read more here.

| • | The original Gilligan’s Island cast returned to voice their characters with the exception of Tina Louise and Dawn Wells who had originated the roles of Ginger and Mary Ann. |

| • | For this animated version, Ginger’s hair color was changed to platinum blonde. According to Gilligan creator Sherwood Schwartz, this was done so that Louise could not sue for the use of her likeness. Interestingly, platinum blonde Marilyn Monroe was one of the original inspirations for the Ginger character. |

| • | The voice of Snubby the monkey was performed by one of the show’s executive producers, Filmation co-owner Lou Scheimer. |
