The Originals: Season Three Premiere Preview

The Originals is back tonight on CW. Fans wanting more of Klaus, Elijah, and Rebekah have their wait coming to an end. The series, which stars Joseph Morgan and Daniel Gillies, has returned to CW’s Thursday night line-up, and there are some big changes coming to the series.

Season three will focus heavily on some new arrivals. These new arrivals have a special connection to the original vampires – they are the first vampires the originals sired 1,000 years ago. They are seeking protection and they want to protect.

TV Line revealed in their Fall preview that fans will see a six-month time jump after the end of season two. The series will take a new turn, but the events of the finale will still have an impact.

Hayley is still in wolf form most of the time. She will visit Elijah monthly to see her daughter, but a cure for her condition has not yet been found. This will cause obvious tension between Klaus and Hayley.

However, fans are still hoping for a Hayley and Elijah happy ending. The characters have not had any luck on that front, but the focus will not be on love for the pair. Elijah will have to protect Hayley from wolf hunters.

Daniel Gillies spoke about Elijah’s behavior on the upcoming season of The Originals in an interview with TV Line.

“He’ll do what he has to do, but I don’t know if he’s necessarily dark about it. One thing I admire about Elijah is that, if nothing else, he’s economical. He sees occasional violence as a necessary evil, or even just another day at the office. And when it comes to the reunification of his family, I don’t think any measure is too dark. By human standards, he’ll certainly do some malevolent-looking things, but by 1,000-year-old vampire standards, it’ll be just like a trip to Starbucks for tea.”
