TV show description:
This spin-off of The Flintstones revolves around the teenage adventures of Pebbles Flintstones (Sally Struthers), the daughter of Fred (Alan Reed) and Wilma (Jean Vander Pyl), and Bamm-Bamm Rubble (Jay North), the adopted son of Barney (Mel Blanc) and Betty (Gay Hartwig).

Pebbles is always enthusiastic and can be counted on to convince Bamm-Bamm and their mutual friends — astrologically obsessed Wiggy Rockstone (Gay Hartwig), down-to-earth Penny Pillar (Mitzi McCall), and brainy Moonrock Crater (Lenny Weinrib) — to join her in one crazy Bedrock scheme after another.

Whether it’s catching a widely-feared snorkosaurus for the local Sea Rock World, testing a super fuel in the Grand Prix, safeguarding Bamm-Bamm’s dogosaurus Snoots from the clutches of the local dog catcher, training to become an artist or witch, or saving Fred’s job at the gravel pit. While Pebbles’ intentions are always good, she and the gang often end up causing more problems than they solve.

The Bronto motorcycle gang — Bronto (Lenny Weinrib), Noodles (John Stephenson), Stub (Mel Blanc), and Zonk (Mel Blanc) — often badger the teens but sometimes come to their aide. Sexy Cindy Curbstone (Gay Hartwig) is Pebbles’ snooty high-school rival and sometimes tries to snare Bamm-Bamm, even though she’s already got vain Fabian Fabquartz (Carl Esser).

No matter what the situation, everyone tries to steer clear of Schleprock (Don Messick), the ever-depressed and consistent harbinger of bad luck.

Episode 16 — The Birthday Present
Next door neighbor Mrs. Gruesome visits and, when she leaves, Pebbles notices that her hidden birthday gift for her mother is also gone. Not knowing that her pet Wooly has buried the gift in the back yard, Pebbles and the kids volunteer to babysit little Gobby Gruesome so they can search the mansion.

They can’t find it so they head to the Gruesome family reunion at the marina in disguise, after leaving Gobby with Wilma and Betty. Fred and Barney see the kids on the way home from bowling, worry that the Gruesomes have turned them into “creeps” and follow.

Bamm-Bamm’s disguise happens to be the same as that of a wanted peeping-tom named the Creepasaurus. He scares some other boat owners and they call the police. Fred and Barney get trapped in a runaway boat, Bamm-Bamm and Moonrock go after them, the police follow them, and the girls pursue. Finally, they all collide. The police can’t understand what’s going on so they take everyone downtown where Pebbles explains everything to a judge.

Wilma and Betty arrive with Gobby and Wilma has the missing gift that Wooly dug up. Pebbles apologizes and the Gruesomes are very understanding. Later, everyone celebrates Wilma’s birthday. It’s her birthday wish that Pebbles will judge people more fairly in the future.
First aired: January 1, 1972.
