TV show description:
Based on the French TV show Les Revenants, this dramatic series focuses on the small town of Caldwell which is turned upside down when several local residents — who have been believed dead for a long time — suddenly reappear. With them, they bring both positive and detrimental consequences.

As families are reunited, the lives of those who were left behind are challenged on both physical and emotional levels. Interpersonal relationships are examined with intrigue and depth as strange phenomena begin to occur.

Jack Winship (Mark Pellegrino) is a rugged and handsome man with a viscerally painful past. He owns the local tavern called Dog Star. He’s separated from Claire (Tandi Wright) and they are the parents of Lena and Camille (one of the victims).

Claire is currently dating Peter Lattimore (Jeremy Sisto), a psychologist who runs a grief support group for people in the town who are still struggling with the loss of loved ones from the school bus accident four years ago.

Camille Winship (India Ennenga) is a typical self-absorbed teen who was a victim of the bus accident that rocked Caldwell. Her sister Lena (Sophie Lowe) is rebellious and head strong and still struggles with the loss of her sister.

Simon Moran (Mat Vairo) is a good-looking, complex, self-absorbed, and sometimes insensitive young man. After a 10 year absence, Simon has come back to town somewhat confused.

Rowan Blackshaw (Mary Elizabeth Winstead) was Simon’s fiance. She had a very difficult time getting past his death but is now engaged to Tommy Solano (Kevin Alejandro), the town sheriff of Caldwell. She also has a young daughter named Chloe and will do anything to protect her.

Julie Han (Sandrine Holt) is a hardworking and compassionate doctor with no personal life. While coming home from the hospital one night, she sees eight-year-old Victor (Dylan Kingwell) waiting at the bus stop all by himself. She begins to feel responsible for the boy who speaks very little, he was killed 20 years earlier by intruders to murdered the rest of his family.

Tony Darrow (Aaron Douglas) is kind on the surface but harbors a tragic, violent secret. He’s the manager of Jack’s Dog Star tavern. His younger brother is Adam (Rhys Ward), an expert hunter with a dark nature and a complicated family history that he’s struggling to overcome.

Also working at the bar is Lucy McCabe (Leah Gibson), a free-spirited traveler who’s made her own way in the world from a young age. A barmaid and a con-artist, Lucy convinced Jack that she can hear the voice of his dead daughter Camille.

Very smart, Nikki Banks (Agnes Bruckner) is the town’s chief deputy and has a chip on her shoulder. She has a complicated connection with Julie.

Helen Goddard (Michelle Forbes) is searching for a purpose and it leads her to believe the town is cursed. She believes “the returned” are a sign of something evil.
