TV show description:
An animated program comprised of three Richie Rich segments and three Scooby-Doo segments. The Richie and Scooby characters don’t interact.
As the only child of fantastically wealthy parents (Stan Jones and Joan Gerber), Richie Rich (Sparky Marcus) is the world’s richest pre-teen. He lives in an expansive mansion in the community of Richville and owns at least two of everything that money can buy.
Despite his affluence, Richie is thoughtful and frequently uses his wealth for the enjoyment of his friends Gloria Patterson (Nancy Cartwright), Pee Wee (Christian Hoff), Freckles Parker (Christian Hoff), and dim-witted pet pooch Dollar (Frank Welker).
Richie works with inventor Professor Keanbean (William Callaway) who invents a myriad of fantastic devices that help Richie on his many adventures. Irona the robot maid (Joan Gerber), one of Keanbean’s inventions, can change into many different machines and helps Richie on his adventures as well as around the house with loyal butler Cadbury (Stan Jones).
In the Scooby segments, amateur detectives Freddy Jones (Frank Welker), Daphne Blake (Heather North), Velma Dinkley (Nicole Jaffe), and Shaggy Rogers (Casey Kasem) solve cases and uncover supernatural hoaxes together.
Scooby-Doo (Don Messick) is Shaggy’s dog and shares his appetite for food and fear of anything scary. Joining the gang is Scooby’s rambunctious nephew, Scrappy-Doo (Lennie Weinrib, later Don Messick). The tiny pup is overly confident, idolizes his uncle, and believes that Scooby acts of out of courage rather than terror.
